The Dutch House of Representatives has passed the proposed legislation regarding the obligation to notify a data breach and the expansion of the powers of the regulator to impose fines. The Dutch Senate will discuss the preparatory procedure on the 24th of February. Our estimation is that the Senate will pass the bill without a debate. In that case, it is likely that the bill will enter into force on the 1st of July 2015.
